Biochemical cycles and Our plants #3
1.
Over the past few weeks, our plants have not seen to have been growing st a constant rate. At first, they showed to have increased in size. Now, we noticed they they’ve become more brown and shriveled. This could be due to the whether being hotter recently. Maybe this will change when the air gets colder and the plants will have some more moister to them. Compared to other groups and other plants, we think that our cauliflower plant will stop growing or had already stopped.
2.
The role that our plants play in the moving of water is transpiration. Our plant has the job of collecting the water through the roots and then the water is transferred up to the leaves to exit through the pores of the plants. Then, it evaporates and is released back into the atmosphere. The changes in our plant affect the way the water cycle works because since our plant has decreased in size, that means it is not getting enough water that could be released.
3.
Our plants participate in the carbon cycle through the cycle of photosynthesis. In this process, our plants take in water, sunlight, and carbon as if it was their own food, which it basically is. As a result, the plants produce organic carbon and oxygen after they die. because of our plant showing signs of weakness and signs of dying, when it dies it'll play its role in the carbon cycle and release carbon.
4.
The role our plants play in the nitrogen cycle is to take in ammonia. After taking it in they can use it to live but as well as animals, when the plants die, bacteria takes this and transforms this into a gas where it is recycled and used and goes back into the nitrogen cycle. Currently, our plant is taking in ammonia from the soil it is in and when it dies, it will be released and bacteria will make it back into a gas.
